The Best RV Parks in the U.S.
RV traveling within the United States is a unique way of seeing the country. Mountains, oceans, deserts, rainforests, grasslands and prairies are all found in the expanse of the nation. National parks and forests are near many of the highly regarded RV parks, allowing for easy access to many backcountry and outdoor pursuits. If an RV trip across the country is in your future, there are many highly ranked and rated RV parks to choose from, a few of which are detailed below. 
 

Yosemite Pines RV Park and Resort

Yosemite

The Yosemite Pines RV Park and Resort has been awarded Woodall's highest ranking of five-diamonds. The travel blog, Ratestogo.com, included the Yosemite Pines in its "Ten Best RV Parks in North America." Most RV sizes can be accommodated at the Yosemite Pines. Hookups include sewer, water, cable TV, Wi-Fi, 20- 30- or 50-amp electric and metered LP gas. Hot showers, barbecuing stations, playgrounds, dog-play areas, swimming pool, hot tub and sauna, a laundry room and a dump station are just a few of the amenities at this park. Spectacular views of the rocks and mountains of Yosemite surround the park.

River's Edge Resort and RV Park

Chena River

The River's Edge Resort and RV Park is the second highest ranked park in the USA on the Ratestogo travel blog. The River's Edge enjoys a Yukon River side location in Fairbanks, Alaska. There are sites for most RV sizes at the River's Edge. The park is open seasonally between late May and mid to late September each year. There are pull-through and back-in sites. Water, sewer, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and 30- or 50-amp electric come with each site. Partial hookups can be selected. Pets are allowed. During the late summer and early fall, the dark nighttime hours have returned, and views of the northern lights are possible. Denali National Park is located four hours to the south. Boating and fishing trips on the Yukon River can be arranged through the resort's office. Watch for moose and bears while staying at the campground.

Mt. Desert Narrows is in Bar Harbor, in the New England state of Maine. The Mt. Desert Narrows made the Ratestogo top 10 list. Water, cable TV, Wi-Fi, sewer and 30- or 50-amp electric connections are available. Pets are allowed. Ferries to the harbor's islands are within 30 minutes from the campground. Mt. Desert Narrows has game rooms, an arcade, showers, bathrooms, barbecuing areas, a dump station and a laundry facility. Sailing and whale watching charters can be hired in the harbors. Sea-kayaking along the coast and cold-water scuba diving are all popular activities out of Bar Harbor.
