Campgrounds near Port Arthur, Texas
A succession of hurricanes changed the complexion of camping in and around Port Arthur, Texas. Two beautiful state park campgrounds closed and still are rebuilding. Several one-time private vacation RV parks now rent only to long-stay construction workers. Still, there are places to camp.

Waterview RV Resort

At Waterview RV Resort, you can almost touch the passing ships. The 76 big-rig-capable sites are between a jetty from which you may cast a fishing line and a golf course. There is 30 to 50 amp service, water, cable, Internet, showers, rest rooms and a laundromat.

Access RV

Access RV rents 90 sites, all with 30 to 50 amp hookups that include cable TV, water and sewer. Nearly half the sites are pull-through. There is a laundromat and showers. Pets are welcome.

Groves Mobile Village & RV Park

It's a 10-minute drive to the refineries from Groves Mobile Village & RV Park. Rigs up to 40 feet can be accommodated. There is 30 to 50 amp service.

Public Parks in the Area

Sabine Pass Battleground State Historic Park is administered by the Texas Historical Commission. The campground has reopened a few of its 29 RV sites and continues to rebuild. It offers limited services at present: 30 amps, no showers or restrooms, so no tent camping, but there is a walking trail, boat ramp and fishing.

Village Creek State Park has 16 walk-in tent sites and 25 RV sites. The campground has 30-amp service, water, restrooms, showers and a playground. Activities include fishing, paddling, biking and hiking.
