Lake Fork Reservoir is a large body of water east of Dallas. The lake is surrounded by towns that sit adjacent to the water or place travelers less than 5 miles of the shoreline. The local campgrounds often provide access to the water, dining and lodging all in one spot.

All Seasons Lake Fork Resort

All Seasons has motel, RV park and tent camping sites available. Free high-speed wireless Internet service is provided in the motel and RV park, along with full hookups. An on-site restaurant supplies casual dining and the resort store sells oil, gas, groceries and snacks. The resort has a swimming pool and restroom and shower facilities for campers. Those headed onto the lake enjoy boat-ramp access and boat-slip use, and guide service can be arranged. Travelers who enjoy golf can seek a game along the waters of the lake at The Links at Land's End. The course offers PGA professional instruction and non-resident memberships are available.

Rolling Fork RV Park

Rolling Fork RV Park has waterfront and water-view sites to offer travelers, with 56 annual RV sites, 13 overnight RV sites and tent camping available. Wi-Fi service extends throughout the park, where guests will find a pond, water-treatment system and laundry facilities. The management stays on site and security is provided. For boaters, a pier and boat launch are supplied on Lake Fork. Lake Tawakoni State Park, 19 miles west, has hiking trails, a swimming beach and a launch ramp on Lake Tawakoni. Visitors can view native tallgrass prairie or ride a 3-mile mountain bike course.

Axton's Bass City

Bass City offers a variety of lodging options alongside RV and tent camping sites. The tent sites come with water and electric service choices, and the RV sites offer full hookups. The park's restaurant serves all three meals daily, and the marina store carries groceries, ice and supplies. Water-sport enthusiasts will find the property filled with facilities for lake access, including a pier, two boat ramps, boat slips and storage. Guide service for Lake Fork also is available. Travelers can also water-ski and sail on nearby Lake Tawakoni, 19 miles to the west.
