RV Camping in the Adirondacks

RV Camping in the Adirondacks
New York State's Adirondack Mountains are ripe with outdoor activities and sports. Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid has downhill and cross country skiing in winter. Summertime around Lake Placid is a prime time for mountain and road bicycling, fly and lake fishing, canoeing and kayak-touring. The Ausable River has white-water rafting. In autumn, the Adirondack Mountains are aglow with red, yellow, orange and purple maple leaves. There are many options for RV parks and campgrounds in the Adirondacks.

Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA

There are showers, bathrooms and picnicking facilities for guests to use and enjoy. Guests staying at the Lake Placid KOA can head into Lake Placid Village and tour the Olympic training facilities. Mt. Marcy, New York's highest mountain, can be hiked from the Adirondack Club, approximately 10 miles outside of Lake Placid. Neighboring Saranac Lake has canoeing, kayak-touring and fishing. Guests should be prepared for hordes of black flies and mosquitoes during the summer months and bring plenty of bug-spray.
