Gruene, Texas is a place to discover history, and to begin exploring the hill country of southern Texas. There are many campgrounds, of all kinds, to help in your excursions. Greune is located 15 miles from Canyon Lake, which has water sports for outdoor enthusiasts. There is the Guadalupe River, and the nearby town of New Braunfels has Landa Park, which is something you should not miss.

Landa RV & Campground

The Landa RV & Campground is the closest camping area to Gruene. It is across the Comal river from Landa Park. The Comal River and the Guadalupe River provide rafting, boating and fishing opportunities.There are 90 sites with full hookups for RVs. There are about 50 more sites with just electricity and water, for pop-ups and tent camping. The campsite has daily, weekly and monthly rates, and has a daily rate if you just want to stop and play in the river for awhile. Tube and raft rentals are available at the campsite. The Comal River is more geared toward tubers. The Guadalupe River is more popular with canoeists. Canyon Lake is 10 miles away.

Camp Huaco Springs

Camp Huaco Springs has a mile of riverfront property on the Guadalupe River, and the place takes advantage of every foot of it. A primitive camping area runs from Juaco Falls to Slumber Falls, which is one of the more popular tubing areas on the river. There is a store with camping supplies, as well as tube rentals. The RV area has 75 pull-through sites with full hookups, and most sites are on the river. The RV sites have 30- and 50-amp service, and a few sites have 110-amp service. There is a camp store and a waterfront grill, along with stocked trout fishing in the river. Additionally, there are 32 tent camping sites, and they all have electric hookups, also along the river. Seven cabins are available with heat and air conditioning.

Lazy L&L Campground

The Lazy L&L Campground is up the Guadalupe River about seven miles from Greune. It is a bit more in the wilderness and closer to Canyon Lake than other sites. The campsite has 54 RV sites with full hookups. There are 34 other sites on the river that have electricity and water. Five cabins are available, which have heat, air conditioning, stove, refrigerator and cable-TV. Another lodging option on the grounds is a house with apartments with all modern amenities. Finally, there is also a small primitive camping area on the river with no services. A camp store at the site has basic supplies, and the owners will set up rafting and white water tours.
