Historic Thomasville is located in the southwestern portion of Georgia. Home to historic homes and plantations, the city holds a wealth of Southern history. Nicknamed "The City of Roses," the city maintains more than 7,000 rose plants and has a rose festival in April. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the city's numerous parks as well as fishing, boating, canoeing and wildlife viewing opportunities close to the city. RV campers have many choices of campsites in the area.

Sugar Mill RV Park

Sugar Mill RV Park is located approximately 15 miles north of Thomasville. The heavily wooded park filled with Georgia Pines offers campers a shaded environment to camp. Situated on a 54-acre plantation, the park has 131 full hookup sites, including free Wi-Fi and cable TV. Campers with large RVs will not have a problem finding a site. There is a laundry facility, bathhouse, propane, clubhouse and a dog run area on site. Anglers will appreciate the park's three stocked fishing ponds. The park is approximately 15 miles north of Cherokee Lake Park in Thomasville. The park offers lake fishing, boating with a trolling motor, canoeing or kayaking, as well as a 1-mile nature trail around the lake.

City of Roses RV Park

The City of Roses RV Park is located within the city limits of Thomasville. The wooded park has 60 full hookup sites and 12 sites offering water and electricity. Large RVs will not have a problem finding a large enough site to accommodate them. The park has a laundry facility, cable TV, restrooms, showers, horseshoes, shuffleboard, a dump station and pets are accepted. Anglers and boaters are approximately 10 miles north of Lake Miccosukee and Lake Lamonia in north Florida. Each lake offers opportunities for bass fishing, boating, canoeing and viewing wildlife, with public boat launches available. Eight miles west of Thomasville is the Bird Song Nature Center, which features 565 acres of woodlands. The area offers 12 miles of hiking trails as well as opportunities for viewing wildlife.

Tallahassee East/Monticello KOA

The Tallahassee East/Monticello KOA is located approximately 20 miles south of Thomasville in north Florida. The shaded park offers 53 full hookup sites with 30-amp service, 15 full hookup sites with 50-amp service and six sites with water and 30-amp service. The park has 10 tent sites. Maximum length of RV is 100 feet. Campers also have free Wi-Fi and cable TV as well as telephone service with a fee. The park has RV rentals, propane, a pool, restrooms, showers, a camping store and picnic pavilion. Anglers are approximately 3 miles from Lake Miccosukee, offering fishing and boating opportunities. The Munson Hills Off-Road Bike Trail, located in the Apalachicola National Forest, is approximately 20 miles west of the park and offers 12 miles of bike trails.
