A thirteen-minute drive from the park takes visitors to one of Florida's most recent additions to its state park system--Madison Spring State Park, which features a 25-foot-deep, first-magnitude spring, which feeds its clear, cool water into the Withlacoochee River. Valdosta/Lake Park KOA

The Valdosta/Lake Park KOA is twelve minutes north of Jennings on Interstate 75, and offers pull-through, full-hookup RV sites (with cable TV and WiFi), tent sites and one-room rental cabins. Park amenities include a pool, bike rentals, restrooms, showers, shuffleboard courts, and horseshoe pits. Paddlers will find the start of the Withlacoochee (North) Paddling Trail southwest of the park--where where CR 31 crosses from Georgia into Florida, becoming CR 145. Twenty-eight miles later, the trail ends where the river empties into the Suwannee River at Suwannee River State Park. Portages may be necessary across shoal areas when the river is low. River otters, water fowl and alligators are among the wildlife commonly encountered, and a respite from the trip may be had by swimming in the springs that feed into the river.
