Campgrounds Near Perham, Minnesota
Perham is a small city northwest of Minneapolis that falls within Otter Tail Country. This area encompasses most of Otter Tail County and more than 1,000 lakes. Most of the camping in the area is provided by small resorts, and nearly all of these resorts sit on the shores of one of the many unique lakes of the area. Many campgrounds provide ready access to both recreation on the water and the gear needed to fully enjoy your stay.

Whispering Pines Resort

Whispering Pines Resort is less than 4 miles north of Perham, between Big Pine Lake and Little Pine Lake. Big Pine is home to interesting aquatic plant specimens including wild rice, but a permit is required to remove any plants. The resort provides a large sandy beach for swimming access and a dock for lake access. A wide range of rental equipment is offered for use on the lake, including a variety of boats, water bikes, paddle boats and life jackets. RV and tent camping sites and rental cabins are available. A general store serves the facility.

Shady Grove Resort

Shady Grove Resort, 8 miles south of Perham, has RV campsites, cottages and condominiums to offer the weary traveler. The RV sites include full hookups, cable and wireless Internet. The resort has several perks to upgrade your RV camping experience. You can opt for a massage or visit the lodge, where you will find a cozy fireplace, ice cream shop and wireless Internet service. Use of many pieces of equipment are complimentary with your stay, including kayaks, paddle boats and bicycles. Swim at the sandy beach or in the heated pool. The resort sits on Rush Lake, and boat rentals are available.

Hollywood's Resort

Hollywood's Resort is 15 miles west of the town of Perham. The resort has a limited number of seasonal campsites available in addition to permanent RV sites, chalets and vacation homes. All of the accommodations are located along the lakefront. The camp store carries treats, necessities and firewood. For boaters, the resort offers gas, oil and a battery charging station. East Silent Lake is spring-fed, and scuba and snorkeling are common activities due to the water clarity. Boats are offered for rent and guests can select from among pontoons, canoes and paddle boats.
