Vertical columns of water spraying skyward as the Atlantic Ocean breaks against the coquina outcroppings of Blowing Rocks Preserve is among the attractions around Jupiter, Florida. Elsewhere, the Loxahatchee River winds a short course to Jupiter Inlet, where a mid-19th century lighthouse still maintains its vigil. RV campers visiting the area will find a campground ready to provide the temporary homestead needed to enjoy the nature surrounding this affluent community.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park

The Loxahatchee River is one of only two Florida rivers designated as a National Wild and Scenic River. Five miles north of Jupiter, Jonathan Dickinson encompasses a portion of this river. Canoe and kayak rentals give visitors the opportunity to explore the water, and ambitious paddlers should note the park connects two segments of the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail. Hiking, biking and equestrian trails traverse the park, and anglers will find freshwater and saltwater species in the waters of the park. In addition to rental cabins and primitive campsites, the park offers guests developed campsites with electric and water hookups. Additional park amenities include a dump station, playground, picnic areas, boat ramp, restrooms and showers.
