The city of LaGrange, Georgia, is named after General Marquis de LaFayette's estate in France, near Paris. The General earned this honor because of his service during the American Revolution. The area has many historical as well as recreational attractions. Many campgrounds are available in LaGrange that are near West Point Lake providing easy access to many water activities.

Three Creeks Campground

Three Creeks Campground offers tent sites and RV sites. Amenities include laundry facilities, wireless Internet access, batting cage, picnic tables, playground and full hookups with 30- and 50-amp service. The camp is 1/4 mile from West Point Lake boat ramp where visitors can also enjoy swimming and year-round fishing for largemouth and spotted bass, crappie, catfish, striped bass and hybrid bass.

Holiday Campground

Holiday Campground has 143 tent and RV campsites with 92 sites equipped with electric and water hookups. Other amenities are laundry facilities, hot showers, a boat ramp, a playground, basketball and tennis court and trails. Campers can enjoy the many activities available right on site including hiking, boating, water-skiing, swimming and fishing. The camp is situated right by West Point Lake where 525 miles of shoreline provide many other water activities.

State Line Campground

This campground is also situated by the lake and has a beach, boat-launch ramp, hiking trails and shower/restroom facilities. Tent sites and RV sites are available with electric and water hookups. Aside from hiking, swimming and boating, campers can also play tennis, bicycle, observe wildlife and go fishing.
