Campgrounds in Milton, Florida

Campgrounds in Milton, Florida
Milton, Florida is close enough to Pensacola and Panama City that you can have a very nice dinner or go out to a show if you want and still get back to your camp at a decent hour. Milton's campsites are even closer to the Blackwater Heritage Trail State Park and Blackwater River State Park, so you can get in some time with the canoe or the fishing rod if you want. The sugary white sandy beaches that stretch from Pensacola to Destin are less than an hour away, if you would like to try out parasailing or go on a dolphin-watching excursion.

Blackwater River State Park

Blackwater River State Park has 30 campsites with full hookups (30- or 50-amp electric), picnic tables and fire rings. Some of the sites here provide shade from the hot Florida Panhandle sun while others are perfect for those seeking the ultimate tan. Whether you come to Milton to sleep inside a tent or a 45-foot long RV, the campsites here can accommodate. The real draw to camping inside the state park is access to the river for fishing or water activities and to the hiking and nature trails. Milton is a half hour away and the crystal clear waters of Destin are an hour away.

Cedar Pines RV Park

Cedar Pines RV Park offers 40 campsites with 30- or 50-amp electric and room enough for both big rigs and slideouts. The campground provides bathrooms, showers, laundry and a swimming pool. The park is just 10 minutes away from the Blackwater Heritage State Trail. This trail is seven miles long, and there is a visitor center a mile from the trailhead. Those who take on the trail north of that center need to bring their own water because no facilities for potable water are available from that point.
