Situated along the Ohio River, Cincinnati is located on the Ohio-Kentucky border. The city is home to the major league sports teams, the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University and major corporations including Proctor & Gamble, Fifth Third Bank and The Kroger Company. Visitors can enjoy city's annual festivals, thriving music scene, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Kings Island Amusement Park. When traveling to Cincinnati there are a number of RV parks and campgrounds in the area from which to choose.

Winton Woods Park

Situated approximately 20 minutes north of Cincinnati, Winton Woods Park is a 2,554-acre park nestled alongside Winton Woods Lake in a pine grove setting. This Hamilton County Park has more than 175 sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups and can accommodate large RVs with some pull through sites. The campground features Wi-Fi Internet, an onsite store and snack bar, a playground and two dump stations. Visitors can enjoy Winton Woods Lake, a 156-acre Lake with a boathouse and can canoe, kayak or motorboat. The park also features basketball courts, a paved multi-use trail, 18-hole Frisbee golf course, nature and fitness trails, the 18-hole Mill Course golf course and a horse trail.

Steamboat Bend

Steamboat Bend is campground located in Woodland Mound, a Hamilton County Park approximately 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. Woodland Mound offers an 18-hole Frisbee golf course, nature trails, playing fields, a swimming recreation area, paved multi-use trails and The Vineyard, an 18-hole golf course. The onsite Steamboat Bend campground has a boat ramp on the Ohio River and 55 tree-lined sites with water and 30-amp hookups. Camping is allowed for self-contained trailers or RVs and there is a dump station on-site. Visitors typically enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, golfing and bird watching.

Big Bone Lick State Park

Big Bone Lick State Park is located approximately 30 minutes south of Cincinnati and is a Kentucky State Park. It has been named by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as a National Natural Landmark for its combination of salt springs and late Pleistocene bone beds and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is also recognized as the birthplace of American vertebrate paleontology and was once home to ancient animals like the ground sloth, mammoth, mastodon and bison. Today the Park boasts a herd of buffalo in an effort to reestablish the animal with the land. The onsite campground has 62 sites with water and electric and features restrooms with showers, laundry facilities and a swimming pool. Visitors can enjoy boating and fishing the 7.5-acre lake, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, hiking trails and an 18-hole miniature golf course. The park and campground are open all year; campground facilities are limited during winter months.
