The small, forested town of Taylor Falls, within Chisago County, is centrally-located on the east coast of Minnesota bordering the Wisconsin state line. The town lies on the high cliffs situated on the banks of the scenic St. Croix River. The area offers opportunities for fishing, boating, canoeing, skiing, hiking and viewing wildlife. Campers will find many campsites to choose from that are both wooded and private.

Interstate State Park

Located along the cliffs of the St. Croix River is Interstate State Park. This heavily wooded park offers guests a chance to explore the park's unique geology of lava flows and glacial gardens. The forested campground offers 15 tent camping sites, some along the river, that include water, fire ring and picnic table. Tent campsites are away from RV's; RV campers have 22 sites with water and 20/30-amp service. There is a group camping area. The campground has restrooms, showers, vault toilets throughout and a seasonal dump station. The park has a boat ramp and canoe rentals for those wanting to explore the river. There are six miles of trails within the park, from rugged and steep, to a leisurely trail running along the river. Rock Climbers will enjoy climbing the park's St. Croix River Dalles.

Camp Waub-O-Jeeg

Camp Waub-O-Jeeg is approximately two miles north of Taylor Falls. This 40-acre park is located along the shores of the St. Croix River and is heavily forested, offering private and secluded campsites. The campground has five hike-in sites for campers wanting more privacy. There are 24 wooded and private tent sites offering water, electric, fire ring and a picnic table, situated away from RV campers. The campground has 45 drive-in sites that include water, electric, fire ring and a picnic table. The campground has restrooms, showers, picnic area, dump station and general store. There is a beach for swimming and hikers will appreciate the park's two miles of hiking trails. Boaters and anglers are approximately one-half mile from a public boat launch into the St. Croix River.

Wildwood RV Park & Campground

Approximately eight miles from Taylor Falls and located in the city of Shafer is Wildwood RV Park & Campground. The heavily forested campground offers 41 wooded tent sites that include a fire ring and picnic table, situated away from RV's. There are seven secluded tent sites offering water, electric, fire ring and a picnic table. The campground has 45 RV sites, which include water, sewer and electric. The campground has a pool, restrooms, showers and playground. Canoeists can use the campground's free shuttle service to Taylor Falls Canoe Rentals and canoe the St. Croix River. The park has a self-guided hiking and bike trail for guests to enjoy. The campground is approximately eight miles from the Wild Mountain Recreation Area, which offers 25 ski runs and wildlife viewing.
