Perry, Oklahoma is steeped in history as one of the sites for the famed land rush that settled what is now Oklahoma. The Native American heritage is strong in the area, as well as that of the old West and cowboys. There are nice parks in Perry as well as many manmade lakes in the area. These offer boating, fishing and trails for hiking. The area can be a bird-watcher mecca during migration seasons.
Perry Lake Park
The Perry Lake Park, about a mile southwest of the city, has RV hookups as well as tent camping sites. The campground has 16 pull-through RV sites with electricity, water and sewer hookups. The sites are on the lake and offer a great view. There is a laundry facility at the welcome center. Basic supplies are available.The campground offers great fishing and hiking on trails around the lake. The campground has a pavilion and a boat ramp. Sites that reflect Perry's history are close enough to enjoy easily.

Lake Carl Blackwell
The Lake Carl Blackwell camping area is a 3,000-acre lake owned and operated by Oklahoma State University. There are 10 distinct camping areas on the lake, and most of them are open to RV camping. Some sites have no services, while others have full hookups for RVs. The areas with no services are open to RV camping. The lake is stocked with fish in season, and has an abundance of great fishing opportunities. There are many trails in the wooded areas around the lake. The lake area has a convenience store, a laundry faclity, pavilions, picnic areas and boat ramps. Canoe and paddle boat rentals available. Horseback riding is available. The site is about 20 miles from Perry.

Cedar Crest RV park
The Cedar Crest RV Park has 22 pull through sites. The campground is on the east side of Lake Blackwell, and about 10 miles south of Lake McMurtry. It is near Stilwater. The RV sites have full hook-ups. Cable-TV is available on request. There are restrooms and showers, and a convenience store. While there are lakes not far away, the campground has its own pond with picnic tables and areas for recreation. The pond is stocked with fish regularly. There are wooded trails around the campground, and around nearby Lake Blackwell. Cabins are also available.
