Campgrounds in Frazier Park, California
As one of the mountain communities of the Tejon Pass, Frazier Park, California stands at an elevation of 4,639 feet. Nearby Mt. Pinos, which is the highest peak in the area at 8,831 feet, receives the most natural snowfall in Southern California and is a popular Southern California location for cross-country and back-country skiing in the winter and mountain biking and hiking in the summer. Outdoor enthusiasts will find a number of campgrounds in the area that offer close proximity to miles of hiking and biking trails.

Los Padres National Forest -- McGill Campground

Offering 78 campsites, the McGill Campground is located within the Los Padres National Forest and sits at an elevation of 7,500 feet. While the property offers little understory, the campsites are spaced enough to provide a fair amount of privacy and are surrounded by Ponderosa and Jeffrey pines. All campsites come complete with a picnic table, barbecue and fire ring with room for tents or RVs. Vault toilets are available, but the campground does not offer potable water. There are 2 group campsites; one accommodates up to 60 people and the other accommodates up to 80 people. The campground is open seasonally from late May through mid-October, and visitors can make reservations up to seven months in advance.

Los Padres National Forest -- Mount Pinos

The Mount Pinos Campground is surrounded by old growth Ponderosa and Jeffrey pines with views of Frazier Park nestled in the valley below. The campground has 19 family campsites equipped with picnic tables, barbecue grills and fire rings. All sites offer room for tent or RV camping. Some campsites are available with advance reservations while other sites are available on a first come first served basis. While the property has vault toilets, there is no potable water available at the campground. Mount Pinos Campground is open seasonally from late may through mid-October.

Los Padres National Forest -- Ozena Campground

Open year round, the Ozena campground offers 12 campsites surrounded by Cottonwood trees and River willow. This primitive campground is an ideal home base for exploring the bordering Sespe Wilderness. All of the campsites can accommodate RVs or trailers up to 16 feet in length, but do not offer any utility hookups.
