Terrell, Texas, is about 25 miles east of Dallas, between Lake Tawakoni and Lake Ray Hubbard/Corder Lake. Lake Tawakoni is the site of fishing tournaments during the year and Lake Ray Hubbard is known to anglers for striped and largemouth bass, catfish and crappie. Terrell has family-friendly activities, including hiking and ranch camping.

Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park is set on 56 acres in the country. The park has 90 sites with shade trees, patios and full hookups. Visitors can choose between a 90-foot pull thru or a head-in site on the lake. Guests receive free DirecTV service and free Wi-Fi. The park has a camp store, propane for sale on-site and a library for books and movies. The fitness room and hot tub are for adults only, but kids can enjoy the family pool and playground. The park offers horse stalls and a fenced pet area for animals. There are tennis and basketball courts. The park is near Lake Ray Hubbard/Corder Lake, Lake Fork and Lake Tawakoni.

Four Seasons Ranch and RV Park

Four Seasons Ranch and RV Park is open all year, providing 60 spaces for RV camping. The ranch is on several acres with shady sites and a pond. There are full hookups, pull-thru accommodations and concrete pads. The park also has a laundry facility, showers and vending machines. Lake Ray Hubbard/Corder Lake is 13 miles from the ranch.

Dallas Northeast/Caddo Mills KOA

Caddo Mills KOA is 20 miles north of Terrell. The campground has 65 wooded acres with sites available on the lake. Each site includes a patio and free wireless Internet. The property has a camp store, and LP gas and firewood are sold on-site. Amenities include a swimming pool, game room and basketball court. The park regularly holds dances and socials, and provides a playground for younger children. Lavon Lake is 15 miles from the KOA and has a 75-mile bike trail with off-road cycling and hiking. Lake swimming is allowed at several of the parks that ring Lavon Lake.
