RV Campgrounds Near Savannah, Georgia
Beautiful and historic Savannah, Georgia, is a popular tourist destination year-round, and visiting it in your RV is a great way to experience the area. There are several RV campgrounds in and around the coastal Georgia city, and any of them would make a great base for exploring the nearby islands and swamps as well as Savannah's historic district, restaurants and museums.

Bellaire Woods Campground

Just a few minutes' drive from downtown Savannah, Bellaire Woods Campground is a popular spot for RV campers staying in the area. Set on 24 acres along the Ogeechee River, the campground is dotted with Spanish moss and huge Georgia oaks. The river offers the perfect place to catch a fish or go for a dip. There's also a swimming pool and playground within Bellaire Woods, and you'll find an on-site store that sells fuel and supplies. If you run into problems with your RV, there's even an on-site repair station to help you out. Call early to reserve a shady pull-through space.

Skidaway Island State Park

The Skidaway Island State Park offers 87 RV and tent campsites on a pretty tract of land near the Intracoastal Waterway. If you like to hike, there are great trails through the maritime forest and salt marsh in the park, and you're likely to see many forms of wildlife on a trek through them. This family-friendly facility offers three playgrounds on 588 acres, and there's a nature center and observation tower that people of all ages will enjoy. There are activities planned at the state park year-round, and the charms of historic Savannah are just a short drive away.

River's End Campground and RV Park

Operated by the City of Tybee Island, River's End Campground and RV Park is a friendly, family-oriented spot just east of Savannah on the Atlantic Ocean. The campground is open year-round and in the warmer months you can enjoy their outdoor swimming pool and pavilion. There are multiple air-conditioned bathhouses on-site, and free cable TV is included in your site rental. If you want the best of both worlds, with a stay by the ocean with downtown Savannah just a few minutes away, the River's End Campground is a great option.
