RV Campgrounds in Atlanta, Georgia

RV Campgrounds in Atlanta, Georgia
You won't find many RV campgrounds within the interior of the I-285 beltline that surrounds Atlanta, with its non-stop traffic, but this metropolis gives way to rural suburbs on its outskirts that are home to camping grounds. Depending on which of these suburban RV parks you choose you won't be far away from hiking trails, lakes and even a very popular river for tubing. You can even head back into town to take in the urban trails like the 5.4 mile Atlanta Ramble.

Atlanta-Marietta RV Resort

Marietta is an Atlanta suburb that is home to the Big Chicken and the Atlanta-Marietta RV Resort. If you want to take a short roadside hike then you can actually walk over to the Big Chicken that is actually a façade for an old-fashioned KFC restaurant and souvenir store. A quick hop onto the interstate will put you in downtown Atlanta in under 15 minutes when traffic is flowing smoothly. This Atlanta-area RV campground is home to 25 full hookup sites with 20/30/50 amp electric and cable TV service. Recreation includes a swimming pool open during the summer and there is a nice stream than runs through the property. Less than five miles down the road is White Water Park, a very popular water amusement park. Fifteen minutes away are hiking trails at historic Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

You can even golf on two different 18-hole courses without the need to exit the RV park's property. This Atlanta RV resort hosts 193 sites with 149 offering full hookup including 30/50 amp electric and room for slideouts. Facilities include bathrooms, showers, laundry, restaurant and grocery store.
