Parker Dam is about 15 miles to the north of the city as are the Whipple Mountains, where you can find several miles of hiking trails. Buckskin Mountain State Park is 20 miles away and is a great place for some primitive camping and hiking.

Buckskin Mountain State Park has 68 RV sites. These sites all have water and 30-amp electrical hookups and 15 of them also have sewer connections. The biggest benefit of staying inside the state park is quick and easy access to recreational activities. Break in your hiking boots before arriving because Buckskin Mountain is home to several trails such as the .5 Lightning Bolt Trail and the 1-mile long Buckskin Trail. You also can spend the day swimming and fishing at this state park.

Havasu Springs Resort

Havasu Springs Resort provides 136 full-hookup sites with 30/50 amp electric, picnic table and grill. This Parker RV resort provides several on-site opportunities for outdoor and indoor recreation. Swimming is available either in the springs themselves or courtesy of an Olympic-sized pool. While the pool isn't ripe for fishing the lake is loaded with bass, catfish and crappie so you have an excuse for investing in brand new fishing equipment before you head out. The property is home to a 9-hole executive golf course and is 5 miles away from an 18-hole course rated 4-stars by "Golf Digest." Bring your jet ski or canoe or boat and have fun out on the lake or you can rent boats. Other activities include tennis and parasailing.

La Paz County Park

La Paz County Park is an RV campground with 114 full-hookup sites including 20/30/50 amp electrical. The amenities at this Parker RV site are not as extensive as you will find at other RV resorts, but a good choice of recreational activities are right on site. Pack your golf bags to take advantage of the driving range and 18-hole golf course. Hook up your watercraft because there is a boat ramp. The park is also home to a softball field, volleyball court, tennis courts and horseshoe pits. The Colorado River provides a mile of coastline on the park and provides opportunities for fishing, swimming and boating.
