Pensacola, Florida is in the northwestern portion of the state's panhandle. The Gulf Coast waters provide ample opportunities for saltwater recreation such as fishing, surfing, sea-kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving. The Gulf Islands National Seashore provides visitors with bird-watching and potential sightings of manatees. The Live Oak Bicycle Trail gives cyclists a chance to spin into neighboring Mississippi. There are many options for RV campgrounds in the Pensacola region.

Playa del Rio RV Resort

Guests at the Playa del Rio can try their luck fishing and crabbing off the resorts piers. Sea-kayakers can drop in at the nearby beaches or at the harbor. Campsites come with either 20-, 30- or 50-amp electric, water, cable TV, sewer and Wi-Fi. Barbecue areas, recreation rooms, showers and bathrooms are all on the grounds for guest use. The Playa del Rio allows pets. Fishing charters can be hired in the Pensacola Harbor, and the Gulf Shores Zoo offers views of wild animals for wildlife watchers.

Gulf Islands National Seashore

Visitors to Pensacola can opt to camp at the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The National Seashore has several campgrounds throughout the park. Sites can come with water and 50-amp electric, or primitive with no hookups. There are also tent sites on the grounds. All visitors have access to fresh drinking and cooking water, showers and toilets. Pets are allowed, but must remain leashed at all times. Guests have access to dive-sites, snorkeling, sea-kayaking, fishing and swimming from the campgrounds.

Tall Oaks RV Park

The Tall Oaks RV Park is only twenty minutes from Pensacola Beach and the Fort Pickens State Aquatic Preserve, where there are sites for scuba-diving, snorkeling, sea-kayaking, and fishing. The Tall Oaks can accommodate RVs of most sizes with pull-through or back-in sites. Guests staying at the resort have access to showers and bathrooms, picnic areas, laundry room and guest house. Pets are allowed if leashed. Hookups for RV sites include the standard 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-F. Many sites have shade-providing trees.
