Los Angeles may not be the first place that comes to mind when you are planning a camping trip but the city does provide many opportunities for outdoor activities. Whether you want to relax on a sandy beach or spend a weekend hiking through the forest, you can find a good place to park for the night in the Los Angeles area.

Walnut RV Park

The Walnut RV Park is located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. This park has full hookups including water, electric and sewage with cable TV and telephone hookups available for extended-stay guests. Wireless Internet access is available at the park's clubhouse. This park provides restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, and an outdoor swimming pool. Universal Studios is 17 miles away and the Santa Monica Pier and beaches are 22 miles from the park.

East Shore RV Park

East Shore RV Park is located on Puddington Lake in San Dimas, California, and has 519 paved RV sites. Each site features water, sewer and electric hookups. Amenities of the park include restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, dump station, swimming pool, children's playground, volleyball nets, basketball court, horseshoe pits, Internet access and a fully stocked general store. Puddington Lake is stocked with trout and bass throughout the year and fishing, swimming, water skiing and jet skiing are permitted. This RV park is only 15 miles away from the Angeles National Forest where visitors will find more than 500 miles of hiking and mountain-biking trails.

Dockweiler Beach RV Park

The Dockweiler Beach RV Park is a beachfront park in Marina Del Rey with 117 campsites. Full water, electric and sewage hookups are provided at each site, as well as a picnic table and barbecue grill. Other park amenities include restrooms, showers, dump station and a laundromat. The park's location on the beach allows guests to enjoy beach volleyball, surfing or swimming. The Marvin Braude Bicycle trail lies on the outer edge of the RV park and extends over 22 miles--connecting to Santa Monica beaches, the Redondo Beach Pier and Venice. Dogs are welcome at the park but must be leashed at all times and owner's must show proof of rabies vaccination and a valid dog license.
