Outdoor activities in the area include boating, fishing, hiking and horseback riding. Deep Creek Lake State Park is known for its fishing and Owl Prowl, a nature hike that includes a chance to see owls in their habitat.

Bumble Bee RV Park & Campground

Bumble Bee RV Park and Campground is 2 miles from Deep Creek Lake. The park has 25 full hookup sites with 20-, 30- and 50-amp electric. Fourteen primitive tent sites are available as well. Other accommodations include pull-thru sites and motor home spaces. Trees surrounding the campsites include maple, pine, oak and cherry.

Swallow Falls State Park

The park has 65 campsites with fire rings, picnic table and stabilized pads. Only three RV sites have electric, water and sewer, though modern bath houses are available with hot and cold water near all campsites. Although sites are mostly primitive, camping at the state park provides easy access to hiking trails with waterfalls such as Muddy Creek Falls--the highest waterfall in the state. Other scenic trails are available as well as excursions at the Youghiogheny River.
