Savannah is situated along the banks of the Tennessee River, a few miles north of where Tennessee borders Alabama and Mississippi. With the river and Pickwick Lake in the area, Savannah draws anglers and boaters. The area also offers hiking trails, historical sites (Shiloh National Battlefield is southwest of town) and chances to view wildlife in its natural habitat. Campers have several options of campsites, with some located directly on the water.

Pickwick Landing State Park

Pickwick Landing State Park is located adjacent to the Pickwick Dam approximately 12 miles south of Savannah. The park encompasses 1,400 acres and offers wooded campsites on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are 13 sites with water and 20/30/50 amp service, four sites with 20/30 service and water, as well as 30 sites offering water and 20-amp service. All sites include a picnic table and grill. Other accommodations include an inn and cabins. Bathrooms, showers, visitor's center, playground, picnic areas and gift shop are on-site. The park offers three swimming areas, an 18-hole golf course and a three-mile hiking trail around the lake. Anglers and boaters can use the park's boat ramps, full-service marina and boat slips. The ramps accommodate boats up to 60 feet. Pickwick Dam has a reputation for smallmouth bass fishing. The Tennessee River is accessible from the park, offering more fishing and boating opportunities.

Green Acres RV Park

Green Acres RV Park is a family owned park operating just outside of Savannah. The park is open year-round and rents by the day, week or month. Sites offering 30- or 50-amp service and water accommodate rigs of all sizes as well as pull-throughs. Pets are accepted. The park offers a laundry facility, planned activities, bathrooms, showers, pool and picnic area with covered pavilions. The park offers trailers and RVs for rent and has a general store on-site. Approximately five miles away is Wayne Jenkins River Park, where anglers and boaters can fish for smallmouth bass in the Tennessee River. The park contains several short nature trails.

Botel RV Park

The Botel RV Park is located on the Tennessee River just below the Pickwick Dam, approximately 10 miles from Savannah. The park has 18 wooded campsites; some offer water, electric and phone hookups, while others offer water only. Maximum RV length is 45 feet and there are tent sites as well. The park possesses bathrooms, showers, picnic tables, camp store, restaurant and dump station. Boaters and anglers can launch at the park's boat ramp and fish for bass and bluegill on the Tennessee River or from the park's shoreline. Shiloh Military Park is approximately 12 miles from the park; it offers visitors 10 miles of hiking trails throughout the Shiloh Battlefield.
