Lake Buchanan RV Parks in Texas
Lake Buchanan, in the Highland Lakes area of central Texas, has more than 120 miles of shoreline. The lake is 30 miles long and five miles across at its widest point. Water activities abound at Lake Buchanan. There is swimming, kayak-touring, canoeing, fishing, and boating on the lake. In addition to the RV resorts and campgrounds around the lake, there are houseboat rental companies for guests to camp "on the lake." Bird watchers can scout out sightings of bald eagles that nest around the lake edges.

The Edgewater Resort

The Edgewater has RV sites for most sizes of rigs. There are 30- and 50-amp electric, water, sewer, and cable TV hook-ups. Guests have access to the hot showers, bathrooms, laundry room, playground, and boat launch. Pets are allowed, if leashed. Guests can take a day trip to Longhorn Cavern State Park and hike, or go into the caves on a ranger-led walk. The Edgewater Resort is on Lake Buchanan; guests have access to kayak-touring, fishing, canoeing, boating, and swimming.

Beachcomber Park

The Beachcomber offers a range of services to guests. RVs of most sizes can be accommodated with back-in or pull-through sites. There are 20-, 30-, and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer hook-ups. Pets are welcome, if leashed. Bathrooms, showers, picnic areas, barbecue stations, playground, boat launch, and laundry facilities are on the premises and available for guest use. Anglers can fish for several species of bass, crappie and bluegill from the campground on Lake Buchanan.

Shady Oaks RV Park

Guests at the Shady Oaks can take advantage of boat launches and beach access from the campground. Anglers can fish for catfish, crappie, as well as white, black and striper bass from the park's lakeside location. RV hook-ups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water (there is a water softening system at the Shady Oaks) and sewer. Guests can opt for cable TV hook-ups. There is Wi-Fi for guest use. Pets are allowed. Hikers can explore the Canyon of the Eagles system of trails on Lake Buchanan.
