Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area

One of two Pensacola area military-sponsored campsites, the Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area offers everything from RV sites to tent camping. Located on Perdido Bay, the Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area is a great place to enjoy a simple beach vacation. Blue Angel Naval Recreational Area offers 117 RV sites, complete with water, electric (15-, 30- and 50-amps), sewer and even Wi-Fi for a nominal fee.

The Recreation Area also features cabins, tent sites, disc golf, paintball and miniature golf.

Camping on the Gulf

Camping on the Gulf is a large private campground on Destin Island, just a short drive from Pensacola. Camping on the Gulf features a number of amenities, such as fully furnished cabins and planned camp activities. It's a great destination for those who want to plan ahead, since they typically take reservations up to a year in advance.

Big Lagoon State Park

If you seek a little more wildlife on your camping trips, then Big Lagoon State Park is an exceptional destination. Not only do they have group campsites available, but there is also plenty to do, with access to the Great Florida Birding Trail right in the park. While the facilities are more rustic than other places, Big Lagoon still offers bathroom facilities, running water and picnic shelters that are spacious enough to host large groups.
