Needles, California Campgrounds
Between the Colorado River and Mojave Desert, Needles, Calif., offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities. Kayakers and rafters can take advantage of the Colorado River, as can anglers. There is rock climbing, desert hiking, mountain biking and bouldering in the region surrounding Needles. The renowned Route 66 runs through Needles.

Needles Marina Park

Needles Marina Park has accommodations for most size RVs, along with tent sites. There are waterfront sites available for an extra fee. Hookups include water, sewer and 30- or 50-amp electric. Tent sites have access to drinking water, bathrooms and showers. RVs using air conditioners will be charged an extra fee per day. Pets are allowed if on a leash. The nearby Marble Mountains offer hikers options on the Trilobite Wilderness Trails.

Needles KOA

The Needles KOA has a desert oasis feel with the bougainvillea, eucalyptus, mesquite and palm trees growing on the campground. The KOA has sites for tents and RVs. RV site hookups include 50-amp electric, water and sewer. There is Wi-Fi available for an additional fee. There are showers, bathrooms, picnic tables, barbecue stations and a swimming pool. Pets are allowed but must be on a leash. Good Sam and AAA discounts are available. Tent sites have access to fresh drinking water spigots. The Quail Spring Basin Trail, which has nearly 6 miles of desert and mountain hiking, is within an hour's drive.

Desert View RV Resort

Guests staying at the Desert View RV Resort are within an hour of the Mojave National Preserve, where activities include mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing and bouldering. RVs of most sizes can be accommodated at the Desert View. Hookups at sites include 50-amp electric, Wi-Fi, sewer and water. Amenities include showers, bathrooms, laundry room and a swimming pool. The location of the Desert View allows for day trips to Lake Havasu, Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Pets are allowed if leashed.
