RV Parks in Navajo Dam, New Mexico
Navajo Dam is a popular recreational area in northern New Mexico. The San Juan River and Navajo Lake provide visitors with fishing, boating, camping, hiking, biking and swimming. The area is very rural and accommodations are limited to a few RV parks, bed-and-breakfasts, fishing lodges and motels. Dining options are also limited, but gas and groceries are available.

Navajo Lake State Park: Cottonwood Campground

Navajo Lake State Park has several campgrounds and numerous recreational opportunities. The Cottonwood Campground has 22 dry sites and 24 sites with hookups for electric. The campground is located on the San Juan River and has fishing and swimming within walking distance. It has restrooms, shelters and it is located within a short drive of a boat launch on the river.

Navajo Lake State Park: Pine Campground

The Pine site is a large campground on Navajo Lake with several loops and space. It has 38 dry sites including one large group site. The campground has large shelters, picnic tables, restrooms, water spouts and group areas. The lakeside location is ideal for swimming, fishing and boating in the lake.

Navajo Lake State Park: Main Campground

The main campground has the most conveniences, including a marina and access to the lake. It has 13 dry sites, 55 sites with hookups for electric and water and nine sites with hookups for electric, water and sewer. In the park you will find water spouts, a dump, restrooms, hiking and biking trail-heads, group shelters and public telephones. The main campground is ideal for daily boating activities, fishing, hiking, biking and swimming.

Ruins Road RV Park

Located 25 miles west of Navajo Dam, this RV park is close to the Aztec Ruins and Chaco Culture National Monuments. The park has 43 pull-through spaces and eight back-in spaces with access to wireless Internet and a scenic walk on the Las Animas River. Dry sites are available but most of the RV sites have hookups for water, sewer and 30-amp electric. The park's location is ideal for visiting Navajo Dam and exploring the ancient ruins in the New Mexico desert.
