Craig, Colorado is a town in the northwestern part of the state. It's location allows for easy access to state parks, the Routt National Forest, and the Steamboat Springs ski resort. This means that there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, and skiing for those looking for outdoor adventure in the surrounding area.

Craig Campground

Operated by KOA, the Craig Campground has 88 sits for recreational vehicles with full hookups for electricity, water, and sewer. For long RVs, 18 of the campsites can handle vehicles that are 45 feet or longer. There are also "Luxury RV Sites," which not only have full hookups and can accommodate vehicles 45 feet or longer, but also have a patio/deck area, and are wide enough to handle slide-outs on either side. The Craig Campground also has barbeque grills, a play-area for kids, a videotape library, and free Wi-Fi Internet access. In addition, there are also horse stalls available on site, and trails for walking a horse.

Yampa River State Park

East of Craig, the Yampa River State Park is operated by the Colorado Department of Natural Resources. There are 35 campsites in the park that have electric hookups for recreational vehicles. Yampa River State Park has a camper services building that provides a laundry and shower facility. There are also picnic areas, conference rooms, a visitor's center, and boat ramps that provide access for launching into the Yampa River.

Freeman Reservoir Campground

North of Craig, the Freeman Reservoir Campground is maintained by the Hahns Peak-Bears Ears Ranger District of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests. The campground has 17 sites, some of which are pull-through. A water system is available seasonally. There are also dumpsters for garbage, and pit toilet facilities. The reservoir is open to fishing and non-motorized boats. The Freeman Reservoir Campground is open seasonally from June to October.

Eagle Soaring RV Park

East of Craig, near Steamboat Springs, is the Eagle Soaring RV Park. All of the campsites are pull-through, and have potable water, sewer hookups, and free Wi-Fi Internet access. Other amenities include bathroom and shower facilities with handicap accessibility, as well as a barbeque and picnic area.
