RV Parks in Custer, South Dakota

RV Parks in Custer, South Dakota
Located in western South Dakota near Wyoming, Custer, named after Union Lt. Col. Colonel George A. Custer, is generally considered to be the oldest established town of the Black Hills of South Dakota. Almost abandoned in 1876 with gold strikes in Deadwood Gulch, Custer later became an established city, smaller and less wealthy than the Northern Hills cities of Deadwood and Lead. Today, Custer is the headquarters for the supervisor of the Black Hills National Forest of South Dakota and Wyoming, and is a popular destination for travelers and the gateway to major tourist attractions, including Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore National Memorial and the Crazy Horse Memorial. When traveling to Custer in an RV, you will find several RV parks in the area from which to choose for your visit.
