Campgrounds by Washburn, Tennessee
Washburn, Tenn., is near Crockett Tavern Museum, Cherokee Lake and Big Ridge State Park. Recreational activities in the area include boating, swimming and hiking. The Big Ridge State Park is on the southern shore of Norris Reservoir and has a 49-acre fishing lake. The Clinchview Golf and Country Club has an 18-hole, par-72 course.

Cherokee Lake Campground

Cherokee Lake Campground has accommodations for RVs, cabins and tents. RV sites have full hookups with 50-amp service. Cabins have two or three bedrooms, and tent sites include electric and water. Primitive tent sites are also available. The camp also has a swimming pool, game room, boat dock and boat ramp. Anglers at the lakefront campground catch largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, walleye, bluegill and striped bass. Other activities include boating and hiking. Skiing is also popular during the winter.

Greenlee of May Springs Campground, RV & Marine

The campground has more than 100 acres on Cherokee Lake's main channel. The camp has primitive campsites, cabins and full hookup sites. There is also a full-service dock with open and covered boat slips. The dock carries bait and tackle. The campground also has two boat launch ramps, laundry facilities, sandy beach area, and volleyball and basketball courts.

Big Ridge State Park

Big Ridge State Park has 19 rustic cabins and 50 sites for RVs and tent campers. Cabins are equipped with kitchen hardware, linens, stove and fireplace. RV campsites accommodate up to 35 feet and come with 50-amp service, water hookups, picnic table and grills. There is a dump station as well as bath houses and shower facilities. There is lake fishing throughout the year at Big Ridge Lake where visitors can catch bluegill, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and crappie. The park has a boat dock as well as canoe, paddleboat and rowboat rentals on-site. More than 15 miles of hiking trails are also designated at the park.
