Bristol is on the Virginia border in northeastern Tennessee. It is recognized as the birthplace of country music and home to the Bristol Motor Speedway, one of the marquee venues on the NASCAR circuit. Lakeview RV Park

Located on Boon Lake in the town of Bluff City and approximately 7 miles from Bristol is the Lakeview RV Park. The park's 160 sites can accommodate the largest rigs, with pull-thru sites available. All sites include 20-, 30- or 50-amp electric, water, cable TV and free Wi-Fi. The campground has a camp store, pool, playground, laundry facility, bathrooms, pet playground, picnic area and paddleboat rentals. Anglers can use the park's fishing pier, with boating and swimming allowed on the lake. Hiking and nature trails are in the area. The park is approximately 6 miles from Cherokee National Forest, with its hiking trails, biking and fishing.

Observation Knob Park

Observation Knob Park is about 9 miles north of Bristol, on South Holston Lake, and is open year-round. The park offers 175 sites that include water, electric and Wi-Fi, with select sites on the waterfront and big enough to accommodate larger rigs. The park has bathrooms, a playground, picnic area, lake swimming, pavilions, boat ramp and fishing pier. The park is adjacent to the Cherokee National Forest.

Little Oak Recreation Center

Little Oak Recreation Center is operated by the U.S. Forest Service and is within the Cherokee National Forest on a peninsula off South Holston Lake. Bird-watchers might see bald eagles that frequent the area. The park offers 72 wooded sites, with some overlooking the lake. Guests can moor their boats at their campsite. The maximum length for RVs is 50 feet and sites have no electricity or water, though several faucets are located throughout the park with potable water. The campsite is seasonal, opening from May through December. The park has bathrooms, dump station, public phones, picnic area and amphitheater, with lake swimming. Anglers can fish from the shores of the 7,580-acre South Holston Lake. There are miles of hiking and biking trails throughout the forest area. The park is about 15 miles from Bristol.
