RV Parks in Durango, CO
Durango, Colorado and its surrounding area holds numerous opportunities for mountain biking (former professional mountain biker Ned Overend once called Durango home,) hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and snowshoeing. Mesa Verde National Park, Chimney Rock, and the Ute Mountain Tribal Park all have trails and opportunities for outdoor recreation. Rafters and kayakers can boat the waters of the Animas. Railroad fans can ride the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, one of the few remaining narrow gauge railroads in North America.

Alpen Rose RV Park

Visitors staying at the Alpen Rose RV Park can take advantage of the location in the San Juan Mountains. Many sites have shaded areas, and there are sites with pull-through access for larger RVs. Hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, and water. There is free Wi-Fi in the park for guest use. The Alpen Rose has showers, private bathrooms, and a laundry room. Pets are allowed but must be leashed.

Durango KOA

The Durango KOA is seven miles from the Durango and Silverton Railroad. Mesa Verde National Park is within an hour's drive from the KOA. The KOA offers 50-amp electric, and pull-through sites up to 100 feet long, for larger RVs. Water and sewer hookups and free cable TV are standard. Pets are allowed if leashed. AAA and Good Sam discounts are available. Free Wi-Fi, playground and a swimming pool round out the amenities at the Durango KOA.

Durango Riverside Resort

The Durango Riverside Resort has convenient access to the Animas River, making it a popular spot for kayakers and rafters. There is an observation deck over the river for guests to enjoy. The San Juan Mountains are nearby, and they afford many hiking, singletrack mountain biking and skiing opportunities. The park has sites for all but the largest of RVs. There are primitive sites for tents, and RV sites with hookups (15-, 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi.) Showers and bathrooms are on the grounds. Pets are allowed but need to remain leashed while on the resort grounds.
