Elkhart Campground is east of South Bend in Elkhart, Indiana. Cabin rentals are available as well as pull-through sites with full hookups. Wi-fi is free and a dump station, laundry facility and camp store are located on-site for guests' convenience. Beaver Ridge Family Camping

Beaver Ridge Family Camping is located in Lakeville, Indiana, less than 20 minutes south of South Bend. This campsite is well suited for children, providing a variety of entertaining activities including regular visits from Sparky the Clown, free hayrides twice a day and face painting. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the periodic dances and bingo games, as well as the daily all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast held in the campground's pavilion. Beaver Ridge has a dump station and free wi-fi. Each site is limited to two tents or one tent and one camping unit. The maximum number of people allowed on a site is six. The non-holiday rate, as of January 2010, for water and 30 AMP service is $27.10 per night; 50 AMP service is $29.10 a night; primitive tent sites run $22.43 per night. Fuller's Resort and Campground

Fuller's Resort and Campground, located less than half an hour northwest of South Bend, is the ideal destination for visitors who are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway in the area. The site is located on Clear Lake and provides ample opportunities for swimming, boating and fishing. A concession pavilion on the beach serves hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and 16 flavors of ice cream. Also on-site are a recreation barn, playground, game room, softball field, basketball hoops, beach volleyball net and horseshoe pits. Paddle boats, kayaks, canoes and rowboats are available to rent, or guests can bring their own boats. Full service and primitive campsites are available, as well as rental trailers, log cabins and cottages. Showers, restrooms, laundry facilities and a dump station are located on-site, along with a camp store stocked with ice, firewood, bait and basic grocery items. Campers are required to stay a minimum of two nights. Non-holiday rates for two adults and two children, as of January 2010, are $29 a night for water and electric; $31 a night for a pull-through site; $35 a night for full hookup; $50 a night for a waterfront site; $20 a night for a primitive campsite. Discounted rates are available for weekly and monthly stays.

Spaulding Lake Campground

Niles, Michigan, is home to Spaulding Lake Campground. Just 20 minutes north of South Bend and only six miles from the University of Notre Dame, this campground offers sites for both tent camping and RV camping. Electricity, water and sewer hookups are available at all sites. Tents receive 20/30 AMP service, while other sites have 20/30/50 AMP service. A dump station is available on-site. Wireless broadband is free, and DSL is available in the recreation building. Guests can enjoy both swimming and fishing in the lakes here, and the camp store is stocked with fishing supplies. Other amenities at the Spaulding Lake Campground include a picnic shelter, kitchen, restrooms and game room. Enjoy the outdoors on the playground, basketball court, volleyball area and nature trails. Non-holiday rates for a party of one or two people, as of January 2010, are $28 per day or $168 per week for RV camping, and $24 per day or $144 per week for tent camping.
