Texico, N.M., is on the Texas-New Mexico border. The area's state parks include Oasis and Conchas Lake with recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, boating, bicycling and water-skiing. Oasis State Park features shifting sand dunes and 80 bird species, including the blue heron, ring-neck pheasant and quail. Conchas Lake State Park is three hours away, but features natural sights such as canyons, sandy beaches and ancient rock formations.

Akers RV & Trailer Park

Akers RV & Trailer Park has 36 sites with full hookups and 50-amp service. Fenced-in spaces are available for added privacy. Guests can purchase their own cable TV and Internet connection on-site. The Hillcrest Park and Zoo is less than a mile away. Oasis State Park‎ is 13 miles away. It offers hiking and fishing at the park's 3-acre pond stocked with rainbow trout and channel catfish.

Travelers World Campground

The campground has full hookups and pull-through sites with 30- and 50-amp service. Amenities include cable TV, Internet and laundry facilities. Tent and cabin accommodations are available. Local attractions include Blackwater Draw Museum and Archaeology Site, Norman & Vi Petty Rock & Roll Museum and the Clovis Depot Model Train Museum.

KC Campground

The campground has 28 sites with 14 back-in spaces and 14 drive-thru. Amenities include full hookups, 50-amp service and Internet. Oasis State State Park‎ is about 13 miles away and has hiking, camping and fishing. For a day trip, Conchas Lake State Park, about three hours away, has boating, fishing and water-skiing.
