You are within 40 minutes of both San Antonio and Austin, and when you return back to New Braunfels, you can take advantage of all the tubing, canoeing and fishing offered by the park's proximity to the Guadalupe and Comal rivers. Expect to meet up with several full-timers who call the large sites at York Creek home. The park is far enough away from the city lights and offers enough seclusion to offer a fantastic opportunity for stargazing, so bring a telescope if you've got one.
