Choke Canyon State Park

Choke Canyon State Park, located approximately four miles from downtown Three Rivers, offers two camping areas surrounding the 26,000-acre Choke Canyon Reservoir, including both RV sites with electric hookup and primitive campsites. It features a 1,100-acre swimming pool and gymnasium facility. Popular activities for visitors include bird-watching, boating, hiking, fishing, swimming and wildlife viewing.

Tips State Recreation Area

This 31-acre park lies just west of Three Rivers along the banks of the Frio River. This primitive park, once private land, fell under the jurisdiction of the State Parks Board in 1935. Currently leased to the town of Three Rivers, features level sites with electric and water hookups, picnic tables and fishing. This family-friendly park also offers tent sites.
