Florida is a well known destination for students on spring break and senior citizens ready to retire from the inner cities. Vacationers in recreational vehicles have also come to appreciate the state and its plentiful opportunities for sightseeing, relaxation and adventure filled sports. It matters little if you are following your favorite folk or country band across the nation, plan on snorkeling or boating during the summer months or simply need a great place to serve as a stop over to another locale, you are sure to encounter some of the best Florida RV campgrounds along the way.
Visit the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park
The property encompasses more than 700 acres, which contain about 1,000 sites that accommodate rigs measuring right around 40 feet. Enjoy all hookups as well as weekly propane deliveries. On-site there are horse stables, stores, canoe rentals and also laundry facilities. The real draws are the music festivals that actually contributed to the campground's name. Full hookups run $30 per day or $180 per week. If you bring your horse, you may house it in the stalls at $15 per night. Note that you may have to pay more if your stay coincides with a major music festival scheduled to be held at the Spirit of the Suwannee Park.

Enjoy Water Play at Bahia Honda State Park
There are three campgrounds in Bahia Honda State Park: Sandspur, Bayside and Buttonwood. The only campground specifically set up for RVs is Buttonwood. Amenities include a central dump station, electricity, water and on-site barbecues. The ground is solid gravel, but there is no shade. If you tow a boat, request campsites 12, 13 or 14; even though they are noisier than the rest, they are situated right by the docks and make boat use convenient. Keep an eye on height restrictions, as taller rigs might have a hard time with some of the overpasses and also trees that are found in various areas along the routes within the Bahia Honda State Park.

Bring Your Pet to Flamingo Lake RV Resort
Flamingo Lake RV Resort is in close proximity to Jacksonville. You may choose RV sites that either surround the lake or are removed from the water for a more mosquito free camping experience. The fact that the resort is just off the I-295 makes it a perfect stop over for RVers en route elsewhere. There are on-site facilities---including a store, laundry and a pool---as well as about 288 full hookups that include cable and gratis wireless Internet. A separate pet exercise area makes this a wonderful place to bring your four legged friend for some rest and relaxation, especially after it has been cooped up inside the rig for a prolonged period of time. Prices vary, with paved lake front lots running $65 a day, while gravel or dirt sites away from the water are priced as low as $42.
