Fiesta, Texas, home of the theme park Six Flags Fiesta, lies less than 10 miles from the border of Mexico. Recreational activities near Fiesta are diverse, with rivers, lakes and waterfalls for hiking, kayaking, bicycling and exploring. Zapata, Texas, is about 10 minutes from Fiesta and has several RV parks to choose from.

Four Seasons Mobile Home & RV Resort

Located on the Falcon Lake Reservoir, the Four Seasons RV Park offers the security of a year-round residence with the amenities and recreation of a seasonal RV park. A combination of mobile homes and RV spaces means that many guests return year after year. This park has an electronic security gate and all guests have a magnetic card to swipe in order to pass through. One popular amenity at this park is the rec room with scheduled card games several times a week plus a monthly birthday party and occasional special dinners, like a chili cookoff, spaghetti feed, ice cream socials, dances and holiday dinners. On Sundays, a nondenominal church service is followed by a musical jam session, with all invited. The park offers a billiard hall, poker tables, a laundry room, showers and bathrooms. Outside, shuffleboard courts, horseshoes, mailboxes, and a year-round heated indoor swimming pool. A boat dock and slips are provided for visitors coming to fish the lake.

Lake Casa Blanca International State Park

In Webb county, east of Laredo, the Lake Casa Blanca International State Park consists of 371 acres of land and a 1650 acre lake. It offers a limited number of RV campsites with full electrical and water hookups. Indoor restrooms, showers, picnic tables and a barbecuepit help guests stay comfortable. Several larger picnic pavilions are available for events. The park offers playgrounds, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a baseball field, tennis courts, a primitive ampitheatre, 2 miles of mountain bike trails, a boat ramp and a dump station. There is no fee for fishing at Texas State Parks.

Brush Country Oasis RV Park

Halfway between Laredo and Del Rio, the Brush Country RV Park in Carrizo Springs offers easy access to the Nueces River and Espantosa Lake. The nearby Chaparral Wildlife Management Area is a great destination for wildlife viewing and photography. Adventurers can explore the waterways for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and rafting. On land, scenic driving trails, bicycle trails, walking trails, natura trails and seasonal hunting are available. Downtown Carrizo Springs retains much of its original charm, with modern lighting and decorative accents that are designed to complement the early 1900s architecture. The park offers pull-through and back-in sites, with up to 50 amps of electrical service plus water & sewage, a laundry facility, cable television and Internet access.
