North Topsail Beach Attractions
Situated in Onslow County, North Topsail Beach, North Carolina, is a scenic, beachfront destination. Much of the family oriented beach's attractions center on outdoor recreation, including biking through North Topsail Beach Park and swimming, sailing or kayaking in the Atlantic Ocean.
 

Town Park

Situated at the northernmost tip of Topsail Island, North Topsail Beach Town Park is the quintessential family park, complete with a range of amenities to appeal to the outdoor enthusiast. The park boasts a gazebo that overlooks the dark blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. There is also a Tot Lot, where small children can play on safe structures, as well as picnic tables for gatherings in the park. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy basketball, volleyball and horseshoes.

The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center

Just a few miles down the island, in Topsail Beach, is The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center. The nonprofit center's mission is to tend the multitude of sea turtles that come ashore on Topsail Island during the summer months to eat, nest, and mate. The center also rehabilitates turtles that have been injured with the goal of releasing them back into the ocean.

Missiles and More Museum

Operated by the Historical Society of Topsail Island, the Missiles and More Museum showcases artifacts about the Topsail Island area, and boasts a vast array of exhibits. As of December 2009, exhibits at the museum include that of an Osprey aircraft, Camp Davis (which was a World War II antiaircraft training facility located in Holly Ridge, just off of Topsail Island), American Indian artifacts and information about a barrier island. Exhibits consist of pictures, writings and artifacts that showcases life during the different eras, and how it all relates to the island.
