Lake Nelson is the premiere location for water sports and winter activities in northern central Wisconsin. In the summer time, one can enjoy parasailing, jet skiing, boating and fishing. In the winter time, when the lake freezes over, visitors can partake in ice skating, venturing out in snowmobiles and ice fishing. As there is so much to do at Lake Nelson, it is important to find the right accommodation near by. Thankfully, the area around the lake has some top-notch resorts.

Birch Point Resort

Just a few feet from Lake Nelson, the Birch Point Resort offers guests their choice of two- and three-bedroom cabins and or two-bedroom lakeside villas. Each room comes with separate living, dining and sleeping areas, cable television, pullout sofas, and fully-stocked kitchens with refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves and dishwashers. In addition to these amenities, the lakeside villas come with flat-screen televisions, personal fireplaces and private docks that go out onto Lake Nelson. All guests can enjoy the hotel's marina, which has a selection of boats that guests can use for fishing and water skiing. In the winter time, there are also a handful of snowmobiles that are available to rent. Though there is no room service at this resort, there is an in-house restaurant that is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Spider Lake Golf Resort

About 10 miles away from Lake Nelson, the Spider Lake Golf Resort is great for those who want to tee off and enjoy all the water sports the lake has to offer. Guests can rent out the resorts two-room luxury condominiums, which all come with separate living, dining and sleeping areas, flat-screen satellite televisions, private gas fireplaces, and full kitchens with refrigerators, ovens, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers and plates and utensils. The golf course at the resort is discounted for all guests and contains 18 holes over 3,300 yards of greenery. There are several in-house restaurants here that are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner most days of the week. Guests, however, should plan to stay at the Spider Lake Golf Resort for at least two days, as there is a two day minimum requirement.

Four Seasons Resort and Motel

Nestled about 10 miles from Lake Nelson, the Four Seasons Resort isn't affiliated with the Four Seasons hotel chain. It does however, offer guests a selection of either hotel or cottage rooms. Each hotel room comes with cable television, coffee and tea makers, separate living and sleeping areas, and a pullout sofa. The cottage rooms all have separate living, dining and sleeping areas, full kitchens with refrigerators, stoves, microwaves and dishwashers, and private patios. In the winter time, the resort rents out skies and snowmobiles to its guests so they can enjoy some fun winter activity. In the summer, the hotel rents out fishing gear so guests can relax in the soothing waters of Lake Nelson. For dining, there is one in-house restaurant and one late night bar at his resort.
