Cambria, California, is a small coastal community in San Luis Obispo County. The beautiful Pacific Coast Highway goes through this charming village. Nearby attractions include Hearst Castle and the Piedras Blancas northern elephant seal rookery. Cambria is a tourist town with several great RV campground options.

Hearst San Simeon State Park

Part of the state park system, the Hearst San Simeon Campground and beach offers coastal camping. RVs to 35 feet can be accommodated. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made online through reserveamerica.com. A dump station, showers, private toilets, picnic tables, fire rings with grills and ADA compliant sites are all on the grounds. Pets are allowed but must remain on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times. No glass containers are allowed. There is surfing, fishing, boogie boarding and hiking in the park.

Santa Margarita KOA

The Santa Margarita KOA is located just a few miles from Cambria. Close to Hearst Castle, this is an ideal campground with full amenities. The KOA can handle all size RVs with pull-through and back-in sites. Slide-out RVs are no problem. Hookups include 20-, 30- or 50-amp electric, sewer, water, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Shower house, barbecue stations, private toilets, game room, guest house, coin-operated laundry and game room are on site. Pets are allowed. Major credit cards are accepted, and Good Sam and AAA discounts are offered to members. Reservations should be made for holiday weekends and during the busy summer months.

Morro Dunes RV Park

Just up the coast from Cambria, Morro Dunes is located on a seven-mile stretch of Atascadero Beach and is a waterfront paradise. All hookups are included (30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer and cable TV). Sites can take larger RVs and those with slide-outs. There is a shower room, private toilets, guest house and playground for kids. Great surfing, fishing and sailing are just a few minutes away, and guests enjoy a great view of Morro Rock from the campground. Pets are welcome and credit cards are accepted.
