Lake Tahoe is a four-season vacation destination. Golfing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking and boating, and all forms of skiing bring visitors to the fabled shores of Lake Tahoe. RV trips into this region provide a wonderful way of having a base camp from which to explore and play in the mountainous area, and there are several good options if you are seeking RV parks and campgrounds.

Zephyr Cove Resort

Situated on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, the Zephyr Cove Resort offers the guest a wonderful and scenic place to rest and explore. The RV park provides pull-through sites with shade trees and picnic tables. Full hook-ups with Wi-Fi, cable television, a laundry room, showers and private toilets, pet-walking zones, a game room, access to the swimming beach on the lake, fire rings and pits, and bear-proof canisters to safely store food are all available for each site and RV guest. Zephyr Cove limits stays to 14 consecutive days per guest, and pets must be leashed at all times.

William Kent Campground

Located 2 miles outside the village of Lake Tahoe off route 89, the William Kent Campground offers a family-friendly environment and peaceful surroundings. There is always staff onsite, and the campground provides access to swimming, hiking, fishing, water skiing, rafting, and bicycling. Full hook-ups are available and the campground is pet friendly. Showers, bathrooms and coin-operated laundry facilities are onsite. Picnic tables are spread throughout the campground. The William Kent Campground is considered the most pet-friendly campground in the area and is recommended for those traveling with canine friends.

Campground by the Lake

The Campground by the Lake is a seasonal campground, open between April and October. Reservations are not taken online and can only be made via telephone. This campground offers a stellar location on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Free Wi-Fi is available to all campers, RV sites have hook-ups and pets are accepted for a nominal $1 for each pet. Picnic tables and large trees provide guests with shady areas in which to dine. There is no charge for boats if staying as a guest at the RV park. Fire pits and rings are at each site for enjoying cookouts or late-night bonfires.
