Grand Cayman, known for recreational diving, includes more than 30 dive operators and 159 dive sites marked with bright moorings. With 100-foot-plus visibility, waters around Grand Cayman are warm and calm. Diving choices include a dive with sponges to shallow reef, deep walls and steep dives. For a shallow 12-foot dive, visit Stingray City, where stingrays bump up against you and expect you to feed them. There are also plenty of resort accommodations in the Grand Cayman catering to divers visiting the area.

Cobalt Coast Dive Resort

Cobalt Dive Resort has 18 rooms, ranging from one- to two-bedroom suites and villas, located on the northwest side of Grand Cayman, 3 miles north of Seven Mile Beach. Each room has a refrigerator, cable TV, direct-dial telephone and furnished living room. Cobalt has large freshwater pool on the edge of the ocean and Jacuzzi.

Divetech is the resort's dive operator on-site. Divetech has two custom boats for daily excursions. Morning two-tank dive trips visit the North Wall, west side of island or south side of island Afternoon one-tank dives are on the west side of Grand Cayman and Stingray City. All tanks, weights and weight belts are included with refreshments (excluding wetsuit, fins, goggles, personal items). Sea Fan Reef is adjacent to the resort and is an excellent land-based dive location.

Sunset House

Sunset House is a 57-room beachfront dive resort situated in a residential community on Grand Cayman. Accommodations range from a simple courtyard unit to a large apartment. Sunset House has been in operation since 1959 and is the most established resort on the island. Swimming from the resort to the sunken wreck 100 feet off the coast, Mermaid, is a popular activity. Other resort features include a swimming pool with waterfall, Jacuzzi and SeaHarvest restaurant with My Bar bar.

Sunset Divers is the resort's dive operator. Sunset Divers has five boats for daily excursions. Morning two-tank dive trips visit the North Wall, west side of island or south side of island. Beach Club Colony Hotel and Dive Resort

Beach Club Dive Resort has 41 rooms in four, two-story Caribbean villa-style buildings and four, one-story pool and garden bungalows. The resort is centrally located on Seven Mile Beach. Bicycle tours and Mermaid Dinner Cruise are available for an additional charge. An outdoor pool, tennis court and complete water sports center are on-site.

Resort Sports, Ltd. is the resort's dive operator. Resort Sports has two custom built 46-foot boats for daily excursions. Morning two-tank dive trips visit the North Wall, west side of island or south side of island. Afternoon one-tank dives are on the west side of Grand Cayman and Stingray City. Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa

Westin's 340-rooms with balconies offer a swimming pool with waterfall and swim-up pool bar. Each room has cable TV, ceiling fans, and over-sized marble bath. An on-site fitness facility, laundry service and concierge service is available.

Tortuga Divers is the Westin's dive operator. Tortuga Divers in conjunction with Red Sail is largest dive operation on Grand Cayman. Tortuga Divers has two boats for daily excursions.
