Mallard's Landing

Windigo Lake provides outdoor enthusiasts with a fishing opportunity. Fish found in the lake include muskie, northern pike, crappie and walleye. Just a few miles north of the lake is a small lodge composed of several wood cabins called Mallard's Landing. If you check in before you go fishing, Mallard's Landing can provide you with a boat rental. There are grills outside the cabins but no indoor stoves. The cabins come in many styles and as of 2009 range from $97 to $125 a night. Weekly rates are available as well. Weekly rates range from $629 to $799. Any guests that bump the number of your party above two will incur an extra fee of $10 extra per person for a nightly renter or $50 extra per person for a weekly renter.

Grand Pines Resort

Grand Pines Resort is in the area of Round Lake, which provides visitors with many activities like fishing, boating and in-season hunting. Amenities of the resort include dishes, a full service kitchen and outdoor fire pits. Two-story cabins include extra features such as a loft master bedroom and a second fireplace. When you check in, you can choose from 40 different cabins that provide lodging for up to six people. Nightly rates for cabins range from $225 to $315 as of 2009. The price varies depending on what time of year you book your visit. The cabins provide pontoon boats for summertime rentals. During the busy summer season, the cabin may impose a minimum night requirement of up to seven days. The resort has a no-pets rule.

Birch Point Resort

If you enjoy swimming on a private beach and boating in a secluded area, consider Birch Point Resort. This resort brings outdoor activities straight to you. Those activities include fishing, basketball and snowmobiling. If you do not have your own boat, the resort has rentals available. There is also an on-site restaurant, the Sunset Grill. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms can be rented on either a nightly or a weekly basis with prices that range between $155 and $1,005 as of 2009.
