Ulysses Historical Society

If you want to know more about the history of the region, you will certainly enjoy a trip to the Ulysses Historical Society. You will find permanent exhibits that pay tribute to area firefighters, the history of agriculture and a collection of vintage apparel that dates back to the Victorian Era. You can also enjoy a fine collection of historical photos and family histories.

Cayuga Nature Center

The Cayuga Nature Center should not be missed. The property offers visitors more than 5 miles of trails to explore, along with animal exhibitions, educational activities and it even has a six-story tall tree house. Educational programs include wilderness survival, pioneering, learning how to draw maple sugar and live animal programs.

Trumansburg Golf Club

If you fancy a game of golf, go to the Trumansburg Golf Club. The 18-hole course has been challenging golfers since 1969. Visitors are welcome, but they will be scheduled around member tee times. Get there early in the day to schedule a round.

Hosmer Winery

The Trumansburg area has many wineries to visit and enjoy. One is the award-winning Hosmer Winery. The winery has been recognized in international competitions, as well as by such publications as USA Today and the New York Times. The winery is open for wine tasting, and while you are there you can sign up for the case club.

Taughannock Falls State Park

The biggest attraction, and what draws so many people to the area, is Taughannock Falls and Taughannock Falls State Park. Located in Ulysses, Taughannock Falls is one of the highest waterfalls on the East Coast, dropping 215 feet. In addition to the falls, the park also offers campsites, hiking trails, cross-country skiing and ice skating in winter and swimming and boating opportunities in the summer. You can also find a number of playgrounds and picnic areas for the whole family to enjoy.
