How to Make Your Own Catfish Stink Bait

How to Make Your Own Catfish Stink Bait
Whipping up a batch of your own catfish stink bait is as easy as combining a few stinky ingredients to create a bread-like dough. Stink bait recipes vary drastically from one angler to another, but you can't go wrong with liquefied chicken livers, a little cheese and just enough dry ingredients to hold everything together. Don't be afraid to add a little water if the bait seems to dry.

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:
  • 2 lb. chicken livers
  • Blender
  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • Nacho cheese
  • Rubber gloves
  • Zip-top bags
Step 1
Puree 2 lbs. of chicken livers in a blender until smooth.
Step 2
Measure 2 cups of cornmeal and 1 cup of flour into a large stockpot.
Step 3
Add one can of nacho cheese or one can of condensed cheese flavored soup to the stockpot.
Step 4
Pour the pureed chicken livers into the stockpot. Mix everything together with gloved hands.
Step 5
Add flour, as necessary, until the mixture has the consistency of bread dough. This will ensure that the bait will hold together and stay on your hook.
Step 6
Store the stink bait in large zip-top bags in the refrigerator. The bait might begin to mold if you leave it out at room temperature for more than three to four days.
