How to Make Camper Curtains

How to Make Camper Curtains
If you own a camper there will come a time when the curtains will need replacing. It might be hard to find the correct size in stores and specialty curtains can be expensive. Don't waste your money buying them---make your own. You'll be able to have the exact fabric pattern you desire for a fraction of the cost. Making camper curtains won't be that hard as long as you can measure and know the basics of a sewing machine.

How to Make Camper Curtains

Things You’ll Need:
  • Measuring tape
  • Fabric
  • Chalk
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Sewing machine

Step 1
Measure the area of the window the curtains will be covering. Note the height and width measurements. Add 2 inches to both these measurements for the seams.
Step 2
Lay your fabric out on a flat surface such as a table or smooth floor. Mark off your width and length measurements (including the 2 inches for seams) with a piece of chalk.
Step 3
Pin the fabric together along your chalk lines. Cut out your curtain pieces. Unpin the fabric.
Step 4
Fold the edges of the fabric over half an inch towards the inside. Pin the edges down. Make a seam around all edges to finish them off.
Step 5
Fold the two sides of the curtain over one more time and make half-an-inch seam to have a completely finished seam on the sides.

Step 6
Fold the top edge over towards the inside 3 inches and pin down. Sew a 1-inch seam from the pinned edge to make the opening for the curtain rod.
Step 7
Turn the hem over and pin at the appropriate length. Sew a seam.
Step 8
Repeat these steps for the second curtain panel. Hang your curtains on the rod.
