How to Find RV Parks in Mississippi

How to Find RV Parks in Mississippi
Mississippi is home to many RV parks, but they don't do you much good if you can't find them. Fortunately, the RV parks that provide fun in the surf along the Gulf Coast and the parks close to the hiking trails along the Natchez Trace Parkway are not that difficult to track down, if you know where to look.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Frommer's "Best RV and Tent Campgrounds in the USA" book
  • Computer
  • Internet access
Step 1
Visit either a brick-and-mortar or online bookstore. Conduct a search or get a salesperson to help you find a copy of Frommer's "Best RV and Tent Campgrounds in the USA." This large, paperback book is the official directory of Reserve America and contains in-depth information on Mississippi's RV parks. The 2007 edition lists 21 different RV campgrounds, from Bay St. Louis to Toomsuba. The book contains hard factual information on each site, such as pet policies, nearby attractions and number of hook-ups. It also provides a star system that rates each RV park on its privacy, state of facilities, insect control, security and other aspects.
Step 2
Start up your computer and log onto the Internet. Go to, where you will be presented with a map of the United States. Click on Mississippi on this map and you will be taken to Mississippi RV park search page. Cities are listed alphabetically, and beneath each city is clickable link to specific RV campgrounds. Click on the campground you are interested in learning about, and you will be taken to actual website of that particular RV park in a new window.
Step 3
Log onto the Internet and go to Click on "Accommodations and Attractions" at the top of the long rectangular image. On the Accommodations and Lodging page, scroll down to "Cabins and Campgrounds." Click on the image that accompanies those words and you will be taken to the Camping/RV page. On this page, you are presented with several options for finding an RV park in Mississippi. About a third of the way down the page is a drop-down menu that lists campgrounds according to their name. If you don't know the name of the campground you are looking for, you should take advantage of the option just below this. You can filter your search by looking for public or private parks or go ahead and look through the listings of both. Another dropdown menu beneath lets you look just for RV facilities. Beneath this are two more drop-down menus that allow you to look for RV parks in specific Mississippi cities or counties. There is an additional dropdown menu that allows you to look according to regions like along the coast, the Delta, the Hills and other sections of the state.
