How to Create a Boat Name

How to Create a Boat Name
People have named boats for thousands of years and there are several superstitions around boat names, such as whether renaming an old boat is unlucky. Spend time selecting the perfect name for your boat so you'll never have to worry about renaming her. There are several factors to keep in mind when choosing a name for your boat.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step 1
Make a list of names you are considering for your boat. Think about your family, your occupation, your dreams and your love for the water. It is traditional to name your boat after your spouse or child, although this can have drawbacks. For example, if you later have more children or divorce, you may wish your boat to have a different name.
Step 2
Show the list to your family and closest friends and ask for their input. It's better to discuss the drawbacks of potential names before you've christened your boat and made it official.
Step 3
When you've decided on a name, hold a christening ceremony for your boat! Invite your friends and family, serve champagne and officially name your boat.
