How to Use a Polar F11 Heart Rate Monitor
The Polar F11 heart rate monitor is used for running and multisport training. It not only reads your heart rate, but also includes a personal training program. The Polar F11 calculates how many calories you have burned and tracks your progress. The data can be uploaded to and stored on your computer.

Activate the Polar F11

Things You’ll Need:

Step 1
Press OK two times. You will see a message welcoming you. Press OK again.
Step 2
Choose your language by pressing up or down. Press "OK" when you find your language.
Step 3
Press "OK" to start with basic settings. Proceed to enter the time, date, your weight, height, age and sex. Choose "Yes" if the settings are entered correctly. If they aren't, choose "No" which will allow you to change them.

Put the Transmitter on

Step 1
Turn on your sink and wet the areas of the transmitter strap that contain the electrodes. Make sure they are well moistened.
Step 2
Connect the connector to the strap (detach it when not in use). Adjust the strap length to fit you comfortably, and then tie it around yourself just below your chest muscles. The hook should be attached to the opposite end of the strap.
Step 3
Make sure that the electrodes are right against your skin. The Polar logo on the connector should be upright.

Test Your Current Fitness Level.

Step 1
Relax and keep any distractions away while you do the test. This will ensure that the results are accurate. Each time you do this test, keep the environment the same.
Step 2
Select "Test" and the test will begin. It takes about five minutes. You will hear a beep signifying the test is complete.
Step 3
Press "OK" and select "Yes" to save the data. You can view the data and the changes over time in the "Trend" menu.

Choose a Workout Program

Step 1
Choose "Program" then "Create." Your most recent fitness test value will show.
Step 2
Decide if you want to maximize, improve or maintain your current fitness level. Choose that option.
Step 3
Select the number of times per week you plan to exercise. Your exercise program will be displayed. Scroll up and down to see all of the information.

Record Exercise

Step 1
Put your wrist unit and transmitter on. Press "OK" to start the heart rate measurement. Your heart rate will show on the display in around 15 seconds.
Step 2
Press "OK" and then choose "Exercise." You'll see the name of the exercise session. Select "Start" and press "OK." Begin exercising.
Step 3
Change the mode view, if you like, by scrolling. To lock or unlock all the buttons, press and hold the light button.
Step 4
Press "Back" to end the recording. To view your exercise summary, choose "Exit."
